The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will hold a public hearing Oct. 31 to discuss a number of changes to rules affecting public employees who are injured on the job.
State law requires the bureau every five years to review its rules. The changes this year extend blood-borne pathogen standards to all public workers, not just health care workers; require employers to maintain records of needle sticks; require employers to report hospitalizations, amputations and the loss of an eye within 24 hours; and allow the bureau's superintendent of safety and hygiene to inspect and ...
