New Rules Coming in Mediation and Hearing Procedures

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will implement rule changes Nov. 30 under Chapter 0800-02-21, Mediation and Hearing Procedures. Among the major changes are responses to hearing requests. The party opposing a request for an expedited hearing must submit all documents, including affidavits, no later than 10 business days before the scheduled hearing. The previous rule was five days. The time for submission of wage statements is seven days after a request from a mediating specialist, or 15 days after the Dispute Certification Notice is issued, whichever is sooner. The ...
