State's Weekly Benefit Rate Rises to $808.65 on July 1

New York state’s maximum weekly benefit rate, effective July 1, will be $808.65, the Workers’ Compensation Board announced Thursday.Since July 2010, the weekly benefit rate for workers’ compensation claimants has been two-thirds of the state’s average weekly wage for the previous calendar year.The Department of Labor recently reported that the state’s average weekly wage for 2013 was $1,212.98. The new weekly benefit rate applies to dates of accidents or disablement from July 1 through June 30, 2015.
