The U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals is hearing oral argument today on whether a group of seven retired professional football players can challenge a still-pending settlement proposal by the National Football League targeted at resolving a long-running dispute about what the league knew about the risks of neurological injury to its players and what it should have done.
The charges, MDL Docket Item No. 2323, have been stacking up since July 2011. The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ordered them consolidated before Judge Anita B. Brody in Pennsylvania.
