Fraud Case Nets State $80,000 Civil Penalty

The Kansas Department of Labor has collected an $80,000 civil penalty for workers’ compensation fraud by Labor Pros, Elite Employment Group and Gregory D. Van Etten. The 10-month dispute involved the failure to secure payment of workers’ comp insurance, to file accident reports in a timely manner, to pay benefits on time, and false and misleading statements made, without admitting or denying any violation and to avoid any further administrative hearings, KDOL said in a press release.
