A California farmworker who lied about the extent of her injuries will serve 100 hours of community service and pay a $220 fine after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor, Intercare Holdings Insurance Services said Tuesday.
Maria Guadalupe Lepe entered the plea on Monday afternoon in Merced County Superior Court. The judge also ordered her to serve three years' informal probation. The amount of restitution will be decided during an Oct. 24 hearing, Intercare said.
