Burial Allowance to Increase to $6,500 on July 1

The burial allowance for the dependents of Alabama workers killed by workplace accidents will increase to $6,500 from $3,000 on July 1. Gov. Robert J. Bentley signed House Bill 107 into law on April 2. The bill takes effect on the first day of the third month after that date. The Alabama House of Representatives passed the measure on Feb. 6.
