A Scranton contractor allowed employees to perform construction work without fall protection, the federal workplace safety agency found during a June inspection.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued $57,000 worth of penalties to Liberty Master Inc. after a compliance officer observed workers exposed to several fall hazards while 25 feet in the air.
The company did not provide fall protection and sanctioned the improper use of a stepladder, OSHA found. The agency has inspected Liberty Master five times since January.
