Several workers’ compensation industry insiders have announced plans to launch WorkCompCollege.com LLC in the fall, providing training for workers’ comp professionals, emphasizing “soft skills” of whole-person recovery management on a virtual, on-demand technology platform.
The core curriculum will include courses in the claims, stakeholder, legal, regulatory/legislative, clinical, return-to-work and humanities departments. Graduates of the national program will receive a “Workers’ Recovery Professional,” or WRP, certification created by WorkCompCollege.com.
The platform is the result of a partnership among Robert Wilson, Bradenton, Florida-based founding partner, president and CEO of WorkersCompensation.com who will serve as the platform’s president; Mark Pew, Peachtree Corners, Georgia-based founder of The RxProfessor LLC consulting firm who will serve as the school’s provost; and Donald Abrams, Austin, Texas-based president and CEO of Clinical Compensation Consultants who will function as chief financial officer.
A board of trustees was announced recently, comprising eight workers’ compensation professionals, including those working with state regulators, attorneys, claims managers and insurers.
