New York State Police last week arrested a 59-year-old Pendleton man on a workers' compensation fraud charge.
Police charged James J. Moreland Jr. with first-degree perjury and making a false statement on an insurance application, both felonies.
State police said the Workers Compensation Board reported that Moreland falsified alleged injuries in order to collect workers' compensation benefits. He received $45,000 from April 2009 to June 2011.
Moreland was arrested and processed at the State Police Lockport office.
