Formulary Most Likely Faces Governor's Veto, Stakeholders Say

The Illinois House of Representatives is expected before the 2017 legislative session adjourns today to pass legislation calling for a closed formulary, but supporters and opponents doubt Gov. Bruce Rauner will sign the measure because of other provisions. House Bill 2525 was originally approved by the House on April 27. The state Senate amended the bill to include adoption of a formulary and approved it with only one Republican aye vote on Friday. The bulk of the bill seeks to regulate premiums and insurers’ profits.
