NCRB Eliminates Aggravated Inequity Rule

The North Carolina Rate Bureau (NCRB) said state Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin has approved eliminating the bureau's aggravated inequity rule effective May 1.NCRB said the rule has allowed interested parts to contact NCRB or its member companies when premiums must be adjusted by 5% or more based on a comparison of an employer's experience modification and claims costs.The bureau said in a notice that a number of factors have made the rule difficult to administer because of recent trends.Carriers often issue their policies several months in advance, requiring the premium to be ca...
