An Ohio claimant must pay $6,136 in restitution after being convicted of one misdemeanor count of workers' compensation fraud, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Special Investigations Unit announced Friday.
Samuel Jarrell, of Marion, pleaded guilty to the charge on Nov. 12 in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, the bureau's SIU said.
BWC received an allegation that Jarrell was working while receiving temporary total disability benefits. Injured workers are not permitted to work while receiving this type of benefit.
