Videotape Leads to Arrest of Claimant After $500K Spent on Benefits

A Florida claimant who was provided motorized wheelchair because of an alleged work-related neck injury that prevented him from bending his body was arrested on workers' compensation fraud charges after investigators videotaped him cleaning his boat and pushing it off its trailer. The Florida Division of Investigative and Forensic Services said Ricardo Aponte's employer paid more than $500,000 in medical and indemnity benefits before the alleged scam was discovered.
