Spinal cord stimulators led to nearly 80,000 medical-device injury reports to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration over a 10-year period, making them the third leading cause of such complaints, according an Associated Press investigation.
Between 2008 and 2017, 78,172 injuries related to spinal cord stimulators were reported to the FDA, compared to 103,104 hip prosthesis injury reports and 94,826 for insulin pumps with sensors. The data are included in the investigative report published Sunday.
