A judge delayed until 2017 the sentencing date for Michael D. Drobot, who pleaded guilty in 2014 to paying kickbacks and conspiring to defraud a federal workers’ compensation program.
U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton on Thursday issued an order postponing Drobot’s sentencing, which was scheduled for June 17, until Feb. 10.
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday asked that sentencing be delayed to give the government additional time to assess the extent to which Drobot has cooperated with the government in its ongoing investigations.
