The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing more than $44,000 in fines for two New England companies after an investigation prompted by a worker's death resulted in citations for 10 serious safety violations.The worker, a 35-year-old sanitation supervisor at Sea Watch International, died on Jan. 16 after he was "caught in the rotating parts of a shucking machine he was cleaning" at the company's fish-processing plant in New Bedford, Massachusetts, according to a Monday press release from OSHA.
