Calif. Insurance Co. Asks 9th Circuit Court to Expedite Appeal in Lara Lawsuit

A California insurance carrier trying to move to New Mexico is asking the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to expedite its appeal in a lawsuit filed against Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara over a conservation order his department obtained almost two years ago.  California Insurance Co., which is attempting to merge with its sister carrier two states over, said in court filings last week that failing to hasten the company’s appeal could bring “irreparable harm” because the Department of Insurance’s plan will likely be approved before the company’s complai...
