Workers’ compensation claims for COVID-19 rose to a five-month high in July, as the system’s claim count continued to keep pace with state infection rates and the onset of the delta variant, according to a report from the California Workers’ Compensation Institute.
California’s comp system reached a 16-month low in June when just 676 COVID claims were reported, according to data CWCI compiled as of Aug. 9.
