The California Division of Workers’ Compensation suspended an interpreter who was convicted on one count of preparing a false and fraudulent statement for the purpose of obtaining insurance benefits.
The division on Friday suspended Alfonso Raygoza, 73, who pleaded no contest to preparing a false statement as part of a 2018 plea agreement with Los Angeles County prosecutors. Raygoza was ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution, and a condition of his plea agreement requires that he “stay away from all Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board hearing locations.”
