The parents of a Santa Barbara police officer who died in 2014 say in a lawsuit filed with the U.S. District Court for Central California that the city caused their son’s death by denying his workers’ compensation claim.
David Anduri Jr. was 37 when died of liver failure Oct. 13, 2014. His parents, David Anduri Sr. and Patti Dee Anduri, say their son drank himself to death after the city denied his post-traumatic stress disorder claim.
According to the lawsuit, filed July 21, the younger Anduri filed a claim for PTSD in May 2013.
