The Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission has proposed permanent rules that would allow businesses that are exempt from mandatory workers’ compensation coverage to file an “affidavit of exempt status” to show they are in compliance with the law.
The state Legislature mandated that the commission return to the use of affidavits, instead of using the more cumbersome “certificate of non-coverage” process, with passage of Senate Bill 1249 last year.
