WCD to Repeal ICD-10 Rules

The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division will hold a public hearing next month to hear testimony on a temporary rule that would repeal the requirement that providers use the ICD-10 coding system beginning Oct. 1.The move comes after President Barack Obama signed a bill that delays until Oct. 1, 2015, the federal mandate for health care providers to start using the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Disorders.Officials in Texas and California have said they will also delay implementation of similar ICD-10 rules because of federal House Resolut...
