Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed a bill that will exempt professional athletes with a limited connection to California from filing workers' compensation claims at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.Brown signed into law Assembly Bill 1309 by Henry T. Perea, D-Fresno.
