Judge Finds Texas Mutual Attempted to Defraud Court

A Dallas district court judge found that Texas Mutual Insurance Co. -- which often touts its "zero tolerance for fraud" policy -- committed a fraud on the court itself by falsifying a medical record when contesting a claim.Judge Martin Hoffman of the 68th Judicial Circuit said in an order issued Wednesday that Texas Mutual falsified the document "knowingly and intentionally" in an effort "to gain an advantage" in its lawsuit contesting a Texas Workers' Compensation Commission order to pay benefits to claimant Juan Narvaez.
