Committee Holding Information Meeting on PDMP, Opioid Abuse

The Business and Professions Committee of the California state Senate is holding an informational hearing in February to discuss ways to improve the prescription drug monitoring program to better track opioid prescriptions. Providers are required to consult the state’s drug monitoring database, called Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System — CURES — before prescribing most prescribed substances under a law that took effect at the start of 2017.
