Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy signed a bill increasing the cap on payments for reemployment plans by 66.5%.
Alaska law allows injured workers who are not able to return to employment after 60 days to request an evaluation to determine eligibility for reemployment benefits. If an eligible worker uses an employer-provided reemployment service, a rehabilitation specialist must prepare a complete reemployment plan and present it to the employee and the employer, which is responsible for the full cost of the plan.
