Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has proclaimed May 10-16 as “Insurance Fraud Awareness Week” as part of ongoing effort by the Virginia State Police to crack down on fraudulent claims.Kaine said in a press release that insurance fraud is the state’s second-ranked white collar crime – behind tax evasion – and costs Virginia households about $1,000 a year each.Using the slogan "Stamp out Fraud," Kaine is timing a May 13 ceremony on insurance fraud to coincide with the annual seminar of the Virginia Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Unit...
