Clara Analytics Names Paul Kim CMO

Clara Analytics, a provider of artificial intelligence technology to the insurance industry, named Dr. Paul Kim as its chief medical officer.

Kim will work with medical staff, oversee quality and safety management, and help direct strategic planning and development in the new position. He will also serve as chairman of the company’s Utilization Review Committee.

Kim is the founder and CEO of Thinknetic Medical Corp., a firm that delivers care to injured workers without delays in the utilization review process. The company also seeks to reduce excessive treatment and move claims to closure using evidence-based medicine.

He was also chief medical officer of AeliusMD, where he helped optimize software intended to improve patient experiences and outcomes.

Kim was also medical director of the Occupational Medical Clinic and Workers’ Compensation Center at Loma Linda University. As an assistant professor, Kim taught and conducted research on occupational and environmental health at both Loma Linda Medical Center and Loma Linda School of Public Health.

Kim holds doctor of medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from Loma Linda University, and an Master of Business Administration in health care administration from La Sierra University. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American College of Preventive Medicine, and the Western Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association.
