The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced charges against 24 people and one pharmaceutical company in Southern California for allegedly bilking Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers and union health benefit plans out of more than $150 million.
It’s not clear whether any of the defendants are alleged to have defrauded workers’ compensation carriers, but one of the companies named in the statement the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Central California released Wednesday was charged separately in 2016 in another case with scheming to defraud the state's comp system.
