FDA Meeting to Focus on Abuse-Deterrent Opioids

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will host a public workshop on July 10-11 to discuss methods for evaluating the impacts of abuse-deterrent opioids. According to an issues paper prepared for the meeting, determining the real-world impact of abuse-deterrent opioid formulations is a key step in understanding whether the products can help curb the opioid abuse epidemic.
