Manufacturing Co. Faces $105K in Fines

After a veteran employee was unable to work due to his hand being crushed by a hydraulic press, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued a citation to the injured worker's employer for failing to use safety guards that would have prevented the accident.  Lauren Manufacturing, based in New Philadelphia, was cited on July 13 and faces proposed penalties of up to $105,000, according to a release from the administration.  OSHA inspectors found that the company had also failed to develop and train workers on steps for properly shutting down machinery and not repo...
