DWC Cancels April QME Exam

The Division of Workers' Compensation on Wednesday canceled the qualified medical evaluator test that was planned for April 25, bringing bad news to attorneys who say finding a QME is already difficult enough.The DWC said in a “newsline” announcement that it was canceling the examination due to “budget constraints.” The announcement did not explain why the agency, which is funded through an assessment on employers, must tighten its belt.In an e-mail to WorkCompCentral, DWC spokeswoman Patricia Ortiz provided some clarification as to why her user-funded agency is suf...
