He most recently launched Prop 23 Advisors — named after the 1918 ballot initiative approved by 50.6% of California voters authorizing the Legislature to create a workers’ compensation system — where he’s worked since 2015.

Before that, he was assistant general counsel and director of state affairs with American International Group and was vice president of the western region for the American Insurance Association from 1997 to 2003.

He also served on the board of directors of the Civil Justice Association of California, participated on former California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi's task force on workers' compensation reform and was a frequent speaker on California workers' compensation issues.
