The Iowa workers' compensation commissioner is insisting that a delay in scheduling claims hearings, forced by a conversion from a 1980s-era computer system, will not result in an actual holdup in proceedings.
But claimants' attorneys, including a state senator, are incredulous at that assessment and have said thousands of claims have been affected.
