WTC Study Warns Rescuers Show High Probabilities of PTSD

Questionnaires completed by more than 10,000 World Trade Center recovery workers indicates 11.1% of them show probably signs of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while nearly 13% show strong signs of depression or panic disorder,  according to a study published online by Environmental Health Perspectives.The study tracked questionnaires completed between 10 months and 61 months after the 9-11 terrorist attacks and concluded that both workers and volunteers copying with the attacks have significantly higher levels of psychological distress than the general population."Many who worked ...
