DWC Volunteers Provided Hurricane Relief

The Texas Department of Insurance and its Division of Workers’ Compensation coordinated 63 volunteers from both agencies after Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area in late August. DWC also increased staffing of its customer service line, created a resource webpage and reminded insurance carriers about their responsibilities to injured employees after a disaster, the agency said in a bulletin Tuesday.
