Appropriations Committee Schedules Hearing on Comp Bills

The California Senate Appropriations Committee will discuss bills addressing impairment ratings, medical provider fraud, ancillary agreements to large deductible policies, and qualified medical evaluator designations when the Legislature returns from the summer recess Aug. 1. The committee will take up AB 1643, by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, D-San Diego, which would prohibit apportioning a permanent disability to conditions including pregnancy, menopause, osteoporosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
