Members of the Senate Appropriations Committee put a hold on a bill that would require the Division of Workers’ Compensation to conduct an analysis of gender-based differences in benefits provided to injured workers.
The committee on Monday voted 4-0 to send SB 631 to its suspense file. The bill would require the DWC to contract with the University of California, Berkeley, to examine differences in work comp benefits provided to employees of different genders. The study would be due by Jan. 1, 2025.
