A report of unsafe working conditions led OSHA investigators to a Nebraska animal feed company, where they found employees were exposed to explosion risks from grain dust, electrical shock and multiple other violations.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Nutrition Services of York with 25 serious violations and proposed penalties of $101,898.
“Two Nebraska workers have lost their lives in 2016 in the grain-handling industry, and far too many preventable fatalities and injuries continue to occur,” said Jeff Funke, OSHA’s area director in Omaha.
