She was a deputy commissioner in the 1990s, then a full commissioner until last summer, when she returned to private law practice. Now, Tammy Nance is coming back to the North Carolina Industrial Commission as a deputy commissioner.
Commission Chairman Charlton Allen announced that he has appointed Nance to the post, where she will oversee claims administration, and programs and innovations. She served as deputy commissioner from 1987 to 1995, then as full commissioner from 2011 to 2018.
