The state's rate-maker has proposed a roughly 9% decrease to pure premiums in January.
A decrease in loss experience drove the proposed cut, though it was helped along by a miniscule decrease in loss-based expenses, the Compensation Advisory Organization of Michigan wrote in its rate filing.
Manufacturing would see the largest rate decrease — 11%. The smallest decrease would come in the area comprising "miscellaneous" industries, which will see a 6% decrease.
