CNA saw an 18.4% increase in net operating income in the first quarter of 2015, buoyed by rising income from its property and casualty business.
The company's net operating income rose from $190 million in the first quarter of 2014 to $225 million in the first quarter of this year, according to a Monday press release. In its property and casualty book of business, CNA reported a 14.4% increase in net income from $235 million to $269 million.
The property and casualty book saw rising net income, despite a 5.5% drop in net written premiums from $1.8 billion to $1.7 billion.
