The Senate Committee on Labor, Public Employment and Retirement unanimously passed bills that would expand the post-traumatic stress disorder presumption and require a study into whether California’s workers’ compensation system treats men and women differently.
The committee on Wednesday voted 5-0 to pass SB 623, by Sen. John Laird, D-Santa Cruz, which would expand the PTSD presumption to cover firefighters for the departments of State Hospitals, Developmental Services, Military and Veterans Affairs.
