Labor Dept. Cites Cleaning Contractors for Work Comp, Labor Violations

The Connecticut Department of Labor issued stop-work orders at 18 ShopRite, Stop and Shop and Whole Foods stores for a variety of labor law violations by cleaning contractors, including failure to provide workers' compensation insurance. The department issued the stop-work orders to Paraiba Cleaning Corp., based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and USD Cleaning, based in Hartford.
