A kiln operator is permanently and totally disabled because his work-related injuries and lack of job skills prevented him from returning to a competitive labor market, a Louisiana appeals court concluded. Case: Taylor v. Hanson North America, No. 2012 CA 0286, 1/9/13, published. Facts: William Taylor, a kiln operator for Hanson North America, was injured when a kiln exploded and blew the door off of its hinges on May 19, 1995.
