New York lawmakers will once again have the opportunity to debate whether social workers should be allowed to provide services to injured workers this year.
Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, D-Yonkers, introduced A852, which would allow licensed clinical social workers to treat injured workers upon referral from an authorized physician.
Pretlow introduced similar legislation each of the last two years, but the Assembly Labor Committee never voted on them. Pretlow’s latest bill was referred to that committee Wednesday.
