Free Conferences Scheduled on Tree Care and Pruning Safety

Washington state’s Department of Labor & Industry has scheduled six free conferences to discuss worker safety within the tree care and pruning industry, which is one of the most dangerous industries in the state, according to the department.  In 2013, nearly 250 workers were injured out of 500 total businesses, driving comp claims to rise twice the rate of other industries, said the department.  The department called the amount of injuries “staggering.” “When an industry has a high rate of injuries, it absolutely concerns us,” said Roseann Collins...
