Aerosol Packaging Co. Fined Nearly $300K After Temp Worker's Arm Inflates

Temporary workers supply about 60% of the staff at the Massachusetts aerosol container packaging company Shield Packaging Co. Inc., according to the federal work safety agency. In May, one such worker was cleaning a gas head when the assembly line activated unexpectedly.  After a gas head needle pierced his finger and injected him with propellant gas, inflating his arm, managers did not call 911.
