Retail workers who had urine drug screens last year tested positive 5.4% of the time, the highest rate among 17 industry sectors examined in a new report from Quest Diagnostics.
The positive test rate for retail workers was higher than the 5.1% for the general U.S. workforce overall, Quest said. And the positive rate for retail workers, which was 4.7% in 2015, increased each year through 2018.
When looking at test results for individual drugs, the accommodation and food services sector had the highest positive rate for marijuana among the different industry groups, at 4% last year.
